Controversial soccer complex built in Kansas City

The new Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City is arguably the finest of its kind in the country. However, the $13.4 million taxpayer cost doesn’t sit well with some. Nor does the fact that the local soccer club, Brookside Soccer Club, will now have to charge its families an extra $20 per player per season and is $20-$30K in the hole because of the new field use fees. One thing that can’t be argued: It is a beautiful complex and kids will love playing at it.
