Some good news about fitness

Our partners at PHIT America.org have brought us a recap of a great article by Rachel Bachman published in the Wall Street Journal. This study explains that the next fitness boom is coming from colleges and universities. Schools are increasingly improving and adding fitness facilities, and finding students are using them eagerly. The result? Better GPA’s, more self-confidence and less stress. Read PHIT’s synopsis here.

Two vines to start your week

Not sure what it is about this clip of Tim Tebow bringing a woman to tears when he hands her a slice of cake, but it’s worth watching. And, cool moment when JaVale McGee of the Nuggets takes a break from the game to show affection to a grandmother in the crowd.

Parent with child playing competitive basketball final thoughts

Yesterday’s post was not quite the end of the story for the mom who had entered her young daughter into a competitive basketball league as her first experience with team sports. She got back to us with a happy resolution to the situation. We wish them both the best of luck.

Thank you, I took your advice and signed her up for a rec league in Jan.  And by the way she played in a tournament game (since they were up by 10) and although she doesn’t know the plays she made a basket.  That was great.

I will remember what you wrote tho.. about, not paving the path for her but for showing her the path to take.  Or something like that.

Have a good one.
