Kids benefit from playing sports

Our partner, PHIT America.org is excited about the results of a study done by NPR, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. In the study parents were polled about the benefits they’d seen from their children’s participation in youth sports. Not surprisingly, most saw an increased level of physical fitness, which respondents overwhelmingly predicted would carry over into adult life. However the positives did not end there. They also felt that playing sports improved their social life, mental health, communication skills, and self discipline. They believed the activity to be an overall better use of their free time. You can ready PHIT America’s synopsis and the entire study here.
