Happens every year in college football

Every year there are teams that probably deserve a shot at the playoffs left out. Our friends at Sports Product Review are very strongly opinionated on this matter. We couldn’t agree more. Make it eight!

Top Ten College Football Traditions

We love college football. Here is a fun look at some of the top traditions nationally. Courtesy USA Today.

Another exciting weekend ahead

Top ten college football games, a full NFL, NBA and NHL schedule, maybe, (Houstonians hope) a Game 7 MLB playoff game, you’ve got it all this weekend. Don’t forget to get out and enjoy the fall weather and get some exercise and play with the kids!

Silly Scheduling

We’re big college football fans and we love a good Saturday of big-time action. We were really excited about tomorrow knowing that four games pitting Top-25 teams against each other were on tap. Then we looked at the schedule and realized they are all scheduled to be televised at virtually the same time. #13 Auburn vs. #3 Clemson begins at 7:00 PM EST, then at 7:30 #5 Oklahoma and #2 Ohio State square off as do #24 Notre Dame and #15 Georgia. One hour later the matchup between #14 Stanford and #6 USC begins. Was there no way to space these out any better? Or is this a case of network greed for prime time advertising winning out over what’s best for the fans?

What more could a sports fan want?

The Cubs and the Indians in the World Series. College football. NFL. Hockey season has started and so has the NBA. It’s that magical time of year when the four major sports seasons collide in spectacular fashion, if only of for one more day. Savor it, sports fans. It is like the Hailey’s comet of fandom!

How does this sound?

Are you one of the legions of fans who feel that the current NCAA Football format of a four-team playoff doesn’t go far enough? There are several teams that will be left out of the playoff who may very well be better than some of the four that will be in. Here is a good take on the situation, and a solution we would love to see implemented.

We can’t wait for football!

And, luckily, we won’t have to long. College offers a full slate on Thursday and then begins wholesale Saturday. The pros wait another week. It is finally that time of the year when there’s a good gridiron contest nearly every day. And don’t forget those boys playing on Friday nights everywhere as well. Hut, hut, HIKE!

Congrats Bucks (and Ducks)

It was a great college football season and last night’s National Championship Game a tremendous culmination. Congratulations to the Oregon Ducks for a terrific season and, of course, congrats to the NCAA Champion Ohio State Buckeyes. See you next year, college football!
